Completing a home yourself without laying bricks
This family home with five main rooms was tailored to the client's requirements. Its practical layout separates living and sleeping areas and includes a utility room accessible from outside. The open-plan living room and kitchen offer plenty of storage, face the garden and enjoy a pleasant view of the forest.
After we supplied the house shell, the client completed the home himself using our construction drawings. After more than a year of living there, he appreciates monthly costs of around €80 and the house's excellent ability to store and retain heat.
We moved into the house just over a year ago, and I can say that it is a good place to live. You supplied only the structural shell, and I completed the rest myself. It took a year and three months before we moved in, but considering I did it on my own, that was very quick. I followed your construction drawings. I definitely recommend a floating raft foundation. We use electricity only, and our total monthly household running costs are approximately €80. We have a conventional electric boiler, not a heat pump. If I light the fireplace, the house keeps its temperature above 21 degrees for up to two days. That means I light a fire, stop adding logs when we go to bed, and the heating does not switch on until the afternoon two days later. So we are happy, and thank you. I will recommend you to others.
